The Principal Teacher
The principal teacher is Mrs Noor Gardner.
Native English speaker Trained and qualified as a teacher in England at Oxford Brookes University, and specialised in English and Maths. Holds a degree in Economics (B.A. Hons.) from Lancaster University, England. Experienced in teaching English to those whose 1st Language is other than English, including Spanish, Italian, German and Russian Nationals. Taught in Tenerife at Trinity School, Los Realejos, from April 2004 to October 2006. Taught in a school environment and to individual private students in Tenerife.

Organization Of Classes

Potential entrants are informally assessed for their ability levels and then put into the right class for their level, and re-assessed periodically.

We understand that students have individual learning styles, abilities and attitudes and ensure that lessons are planned according to the needs of the class.

Timetabled classes

We offer timetabled classes in English, with a maximum of six students per class, and individual private lessons in English. In these classes, we are able to gear the teaching to the individual’s learning styles and provide a more effective personalised approach, as well as students having the benefit of practicing the English language with their co-students in the classroom setting.

The materials employed are based on tried and tested methods for the specific classes. For example:

Where the class has rudimentary level of English, special materials have been developed and specific exercises are conducted to stimulate quick learning of vocabulary and speech.

For students who can read and write English, but lack confidence with speaking, emphasis is placed on conversational skills and particular problem areas such as language structure and pronunciation.
For children attending the British schools, we use the English National Curriculum as our basis of teaching and place equal emphasis on speaking, reading and writing. The material used conforms to the National Curriculum.

	Individual tuition
	For one-to-one classes, in both English and Mathematics, we provide an individualised programme to meet the requirements of the student.

Types of Classes

Mondays to Thursdays

From Mondays to Thursdays we offer classes both in the mornings and the afternoons.

In the mornings we offer:

Adult conversation classes.
Individual remedial teaching for children and adults.
English courses for Businesses.
Intensive language courses for children who want to enter the British schools.

The afternoon classes are for children between the ages of 6 to 17.

The adult conversation classes in the morning are of one-hour duration.

In the afternoon, the timetabled classes for children are of one-hour duration. The students attend 2 separate one-hour classes per week as part of their learning programme.

Fridays

On Fridays, we offer individual classes of one-hour duration in either English or Mathematics throughout the day.

Hours and Dates

Our opening hours are Mondays to Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 19:00 p.m.

For specific class times, please contact us either by phone or email, or pay a personal visit to arrange a meeting.

For this academic year, the Academy is open from:

10^th September – 16^th December 2007 and 7^th January – 31st July 2008

The Academy will be closed on Public Holidays during the above dates, but open in school holidays.
