A dilemma?

Here is a dilemma. How many courses of action make a dilemma? Three, four, two hundred?

The word dilemma comes from Greek, meaning two propositions (proposiciónes). So, if you have to decide between two things, you have a dilemma. If there are more than two courses of action, then you have a bigger problem or even a quandary (apuro).

Dilemmas are better – only two things to decide between! So the Greeks have a dilemma – in or out of the European Union.
