A Spanish trick on the English

Beware of the Spanish trick (travesura) on the English. “Sensible” in Spanish does not mean sensible in English. Sensible = “sensato”. Sensible in English means “prudente o sensato”.
Here are some examples:

• Mr. Trump is not a sensible man (…no es un hombre sensato).

• Be sensible! = ¡Se sensato!

• Try to be sensible (procura ser razonable).

• Sensible politicians are like hens teeth. Hens teeth? Click here to find out more.
